Amy Hunt Naturopath ("I", "me", "my") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how I collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), as well as professional obligations under the NHAA Code of Conduct.
2. Professional Standing
Amy Hunt is a qualified naturopath (BHSc Naturopathy, Torrens University) and a member of the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA), Member No. 160711. Amy Hunt Naturopath holds current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.
3. Information I Collect
I may collect the following information from you:
Personal details - Name, date of birth, contact information, address.
Health information - medical history, current symptoms, medications, supplements, lifestyle and dietary information, and other clinical details relevant to your care.
Booking and consultation information - appointment history, consultation notes, and correspondence.
Payment information - processed through third-party payment providers; I do not directly store full payment card details.
Website usage data - general analytics about how visitors use this website (see Section 8).
4. How I Collect Information
Information is collected directly from you through intake forms, consultations, email or phone correspondence, and the online booking system. I do not collect personal information about you from third parties without your knowledge, except where necessary for your care (such as liaising with a GP with your consent).
5. Why I Collect and Use Your Information
Your information is used to provide naturopathic consultations and ongoing care, communicate with you about appointments and your treatment plan, maintain accurate clinical records as required by law and professional standards, process payments for services, and, where you have separately consented, share de-identified information for professional development or educational purposes.
I do not use your information for marketing without your explicit consent, and I do not sell or trade your personal information to any third party.
6. Disclosure of Information
Your information is treated as confidential and is not disclosed to third parties except in the following circumstances: with your explicit consent (for example, when liaising with your GP or another health professional involved in your care), where required by law (including mandatory reporting obligations), where necessary to prevent a serious risk to your health and safety or that of another person, or to my professional indemnity insurer or regulatory body if required in the course of a complaint or claim.
7. Storage and Security
Your clinical records are stored securely using Cliniko, a cloud-based practice management system that meets Australian privacy and security standards. Access to your records is restricted to me as your treating practitioner. Records are retained for a minimum of 7 years from your last appointment, or until the age of 25 if you were a minor at the time of treatment, in accordance with professional and legal requirements.
8. Website and Cookies
This website may use cookies and basic analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site and improve user experience. This data is generally anonymised and is not used to identify you personally. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect some website functionality.
9. Telehealth
Telehealth consultations are conducted via secure video conferencing software. While reasonable steps are taken to ensure the security of these platforms, no electronic transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for ensuring you attend Telehealth consultations from a private and appropriate location.
10. Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to access the personal information I hold about you, request correction of any inaccurate information, ask questions about how your information is used or disclosed, and lodge a complaint if you believe your privacy has been breached.
